The Praesidium
The Convention Praesidium consists of:

The Praesidium has to comply with the following tasks:
· It worked out the basics of the rules of procedure of the Convention which was then decided upon by the Convention.
· It prepares the agenda for the meetings of the Convention.
· It decided on the set-up of the various working groups following the principles of balance and balanced distribution of tasks.
· It decides on the content and time-limit of the debates in the working groups.
· The Praesidium discusses the hearing of experts and civil organisations and proposes a motion for deciding on the hearings to the Convention.
· It may consult experts for the debates or commission them.
· Upon agreement of the Praesidium, the working groups may consult experts for their debates or to commission them.
· No later than 18 months after the inauguration of the Convention, the Praesidium has to present final documents to the President, the National Council, the Federal Council, the Provincial Governors, the Provincial Diets of the Republic of Austria and the members of the Convention.
The Chairman convenes the Praesidium. It meets when necessary – about twice a month.
